Av- Aperture Priority mode. Two examples of when to use this:
- When your priority is to have the background blurry choose a low F-stop aka large Aperture such as 3.5
- When your priority is to have everything in focus (no matter how far in the background it is), choose a high F-stop or a small Aperture such as 22.
- When you want to gather in more light than your auto-setting, set a slower shutter speed
- When you want to take a picture of a room that people keep walking through, set an incredibly slow shutter speed so they will not show up in the photo (unless they stop to stare at something).
- When you want the picture to be a bit darker, you can lower your ISO (if you are not shooting anything in motion) or increase the speed of your shutter.
- Every time you double the shutter speed, you take away roughly half the amount of light that you had in the previous shot.
- You will need a tripod for anything slower than 60 aka 1/60th of a second
